Blink Charging has partnered with Emobi to integrate its electric vehicle charging network into Emobi’s roaming and automated charging platform across North America.

The companies said the collaboration is intended to provide drivers with simplified access to Blink charging stations through automaker systems, fleet management platforms and mobile applications.

Under the agreement, Blink’s charging infrastructure will connect to Emobi’s roaming ecosystem and its JustPlug automated charging technology.

According to the companies, the system is designed to allow drivers to initiate charging sessions simply by plugging in their vehicles, with authentication and payment processes handled automatically in the background.

The partnership initially covers a one-year term.

Blink said the agreement creates “a path for Blink’s customers toward fully automated charging through Emobi’s JustPlug technology.”

The company added that the system is intended to support seamless charging experiences across both fleet and public charging applications.

Blink currently operates more than 56,000 connected charging ports, primarily in the United States, while also maintaining charging networks in Mexico, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Greece and Israel.

Its charging infrastructure is deployed across residential buildings, workplaces, university campuses, fleet depots and public charging locations.

According to Blink, Emobi’s JustPlug technology supports automated charging across DC fast chargers and Level 2 charging stations without requiring additional hardware upgrades or firmware modifications.

The companies said the platform is designed to simplify adoption of ISO-15118 Plug&Charge functionality, which enables automatic authentication between vehicles and charging stations.

Emobi is also involved in vehicle-to-grid research activities in Florida and counts Stellantis among its stakeholders.

The company additionally works with charging providers including EVgo, ChargePoint and Shell Recharge in the United States and Canada.

Lin Sun Fa, chief executive of Emobi, said the partnership aims to improve interoperability and user convenience as charging infrastructure expands.

“As charging networks scale, it becomes harder to stay attuned to the driver experience; but Blink has managed to do both, building one of the most recognised and driver-friendly networks in the market,” Sun Fa said.

“By bringing Blink into Emobi’s ecosystem, we’re giving drivers the flexibility to charge through the platforms they choose, while enabling a seamless and fully automated experience with JustPlug,” he added.

The agreement reflects broader industry efforts to simplify EV charging access and improve interoperability between charging operators, automakers and mobility service platforms.
