Blink Charging said on Monday it is expanding its collaboration with Belgian real estate firm Group Bernaerts to increase electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at its commercial properties in Antwerp and Mechelen, Belgium.

The partnership, which began in 2022, currently includes 88 Blink chargers, with plans to double that number by the end of the year. Group Bernaerts is expanding both underground and above-ground installations, including semi-public chargers near highways and event venues.

Group Bernaerts had previously seen tenants install their own chargers independently, using private meters. The company later sought a more centralized and scalable solution. “Office owners are rapidly being confronted with this new, urgent need from their tenants,” said Anthony Poshcet, Head of European Sales and Marketing at Blink. “That’s why we take over the entire process, from technical analysis and design to installation and implementation.”

According to Blink, its system is designed for multi-tenant environments, optimizing parking space usage and supporting long-term sustainability goals. “Using platforms specifically designed for complex multi-tenant environments, we optimize the use of parking spaces,” said Alex Calnan, Managing Director of Europe at Blink. “This maximizes the value of each charging location.”

Nico Van Daele, Managing Director of Group Bernaerts, said that every charger on the properties is in daily use, with energy consumption tripling annually. “The comprehensive service that Blink delivers was exactly what we needed – and what our tenants wanted,” he said.
