Aventon, the popular e-bike brand, has recently unveiled their latest models, the Pace 350.3 and Pace 500.3, which are the third-generation versions of their popular commuter bikes. These bikes are designed for budget-minded riders who are looking for quality electric bikes to ride to work or run errands.
One of the biggest updates that Aventon has made to these models is the new torque sensor, which engages the pedal assist. This means that the motor’s assist is delivered precisely when the rider pedals, and the power level is based on how hard the rider is pedaling. This is a significant improvement over cheaper cadence sensor-based e-bikes that provide a set amount of motor power when the pedals begin to move.
The torque sensor setup is sure to impress riders who enjoy a smooth pedal assist while still benefiting from the electric motor’s advantages. Additionally, both models come with a throttle for when riders want to let the motor do all the work.
The bikes are made using 6061 aluminum frames with integrated batteries that can be locked onto the bike or removed for charging off the bike. The Pace 500.3 falls in the Class 3 category and has a 28 mph top speed on pedal assist and a 20 mph top speed on throttle-only riding. The 500W continuous-rated motor in the rear wheel draws its power from a 48V 12.8Ah battery with 614 Wh of capacity. The battery provides up to 60 miles of range in lower power mode, but using higher power or riding with only the throttle will quickly reduce the range to around 30 miles.
The Pace 500.3 also comes with an 8-speed drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes for safe and secure stops. It features Aventon’s new turn signals and a color LCD screen that gives riders app integration for recording rides, making customizations to the bike’s performance, and more.
The Pace 350.3 is a retail exclusive model that has a slightly lower power 350W motor and a slightly smaller battery, but still comes with many of the same features as the Pace 500.3, including the torque sensor, app connectivity, and a 60-mile range.
Both bikes are designed like city bikes but have a relaxed geometry and adjustable sweptback handlebars, making them fall somewhere between city bikes and cruisers. These bikes are sure to impress riders looking for a quality electric bike for their daily commutes or errands. With their updated designs and components, the Aventon Pace 350.3 and Pace 500.3 are better than ever and offer riders more bang for their buck.
