California-based e-bike manufacturer, Aventon, has made a name for itself in recent months with its selection of practical and stylish electric bicycles. The company, like many e-bike manufacturers, outsources production to China, resulting in a fleet of affordable and technologically advanced e-bikes.
Recently, Aventon has launched its latest model, the Aventure.2 fat-tire e-bike. This second-generation machine has been updated with a torque sensor-equipped pedal assist, providing a more natural pedal feel. Additionally, the Aventure.2 is available in two variants – step-through and step-over – catering to riders of all backgrounds. The step-over version is available in a camouflage green or slate gray colorway, while the step-through bike comes in black or cobalt blue. Both bikes have double-butted aluminum alloy frames, ensuring rigidity, but they are on the heavy side at 35 kilograms.
Performance-wise, the Aventure.2 makes up for its weight with a powerful motor. The bike has a 750-watt nominal and 1,130-watt peak power electric motor attached to the back wheel, providing a top speed of 28 miles per hour on assist. The motor is paired with a 48V, 720Wh battery pack that’s integrated into the frame, offering a range of up to 60 miles on a single charge.
The Aventure.2 is also equipped with entry-level, yet respectable, componentry from Shimano, including a Shimano Tourney drivetrain and Tektro HD-E350 hydraulic disc brakes. The bike also comes standard with a rear luggage rack for added in-city practicality and an optional front luggage rack for extra carrying capabilities.
At a sticker price of just $1,899, Aventon offers the Aventure.2 at a great value and also offers free shipping within the U.S.
