Tesla has announced plans to expand its presence in Nevada with the construction of two new factories, dedicating $3.6 billion to the project. The first factory will be dedicated to the production of 4680 cells, with an annual capacity of 100 Gigawatt hours (GWh), enough to power 2 million light duty vehicles per year. Chinese battery cell manufacturer Eve Energy, known for supplying BMW, plans to construct two new production facilities in China. The first, with an annual capacity of 20 GWh, will produce an as-yet-unknown lithium battery type in Jianyang, Sichuan, with an investment of around 10 billion yuan (1.36 billion euros). Nikola and IVECO have announced a Letter of Intent for an order of 100 Class 8 heavy-duty Nikola Tre hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) from GP JOULE, a system provider for integrated energy solutions based in Reussenkoege, Germany.
