Hyundai MobeD, new mobility platform can elevate its wheels to navigate uneven surfaces
Hyundai launched Mobile Eccentric Droid (MobED), a small car platform that can be used in various fields. The MobED consists of a flat rectangular platform on which various tools can be placed, and four large 12-inch wheels. It also features independent suspension that allows for different postures, allowing the platform to remain stable on uneven terrain. Volkswagen’s software unit Cariad and auto parts supplier Bosch have collaborated to produce software for electric cars. Volkswagen’s efforts to compete with Tesla Inc. German newspaper Handelsblatt said Volkswagen plans to invest triple-digit million euros in the realization of the deal with Bosch. The Yamaha Motor Company will launch a new electric scooter for the Asian and European markets in 2022. Yamaha’s plan to deliver environmentally friendly vehicles will start by offering a small electric scooter in Europe. The electric scooter will be built on the concept models E01 and E02. US Vice President Kamala Harris announced the government’s plan to build 500,000 charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) across the country. This is part of President Joe Biden’s goal to make electric vehicles more accessible for both local and long-distance travel. The Mercedes-Benz EQS, the most expensive electric car made by the German car manufacturer, was recalled for allowing drivers to watch TV while driving. A total of 227 electric cars that have been sold had to be recalled because of the error. The recalled luxury electric cars are production cars from December 8, 2020 to October 13, 2021. Ford plans to increase production of the Mach E electric car next year. Ford’s target is to triple capacity by 2023. This is done to meet the tremendous demand. General Motors (GM) will reportedly invest US$ 3 billion to produce electric cars and new batteries. Reported by the Wall Street Journal, the big job will be done by GM at their Orion Assembly plant in Michigan, United States.
