Nio said its semiconductor subsidiary GeniTech Co Ltd, also known as Shenji, has secured 2.257 billion yuan ($330 million) in its first external funding round, confirming earlier media reports. Foxconn has opened a new research and development centre for electric vehicles in Zhengzhou, China, as it steps up efforts to become a contract manufacturer for automakers and accelerate vehicle development timelines.
