Fisker appointed new executives for their manufacturing line. Alpay Uguz was appointed Senior Vice President of Fisker Global Manufacturing. Alpay Uguz previously worked at BMW’s Spartanburg plant in South Carolina as general manager for the SUV brand. Alpay Uguz’s task is to oversee the company’s global manufacturing with a target of producing one million electric vehicles annually by 2027. Specifically Uguz will focus on “lean manufacturing and innovative engineering” to reduce spare parts from the early stages of development. There are now more than 26,500 Teslas on Australian roads, Tesla Inc Board Chairman Robyn Denholm at the Australian Clean Energy Summit. Chinese battery giant CATL is considering two locations in Mexico for electric vehicle battery production that have the potential to supply major US manufacturers such as Tesla and Ford, Bloomberg reported today. The two sites considered for the site are Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, and Saltillo, Coahuila. Both locations are near the Texas border, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
