S2G Energy has deployed AMPECO’s charging management software to operate one of Latin America’s largest electric fleet charging networks, overseeing 566 charging units and more than 2,600 electric vehicles across the region. The Mexico-based electromobility company said it plans to double its charging infrastructure within six months as demand grows for electrified last-mile delivery operations. The platform integrates charging control, vehicle telematics and routing intelligence into a single system designed for mission-critical fleets. S2G Energy reported network uptime exceeding 98% and said charging schedules are optimized to take advantage of lower electricity prices and site-specific conditions. Chief Executive and co-founder…
Brazil has ended a tariff concession that allowed automakers to import electric vehicles as semi-knocked-down (SKD) and completely knocked-down (CKD) kits at reduced rates, a move that will raise duties in stages to 35% by January 2027 and narrow the cost advantage for foreign manufacturers assembling vehicles locally. The decision primarily affects Chinese automakers such as BYD, which have relied on SKD and CKD imports to supply the Brazilian market while building local operations. The preferential tariff rate of 14% on EV assembly kits had been due to expire at the end of January 2026, but Brazil’s foreign trade committee,…
The Brazilian city of Goiânia has placed 21 electric articulated and double-articulated buses into operation, marking a new step in the electrification of its high-capacity public transport system, the city’s public operator said. The vehicles were ordered last year from Volvo Buses and are being charged at a newly commissioned charging hub at the depot of Metrobus, which operates the city’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services. Metrobus said the depot is equipped with 23 chargers, each rated at 240 kilowatts, capable of supplying electricity to up to 46 buses simultaneously. The fleet will be deployed on Goiânia’s east–west BRT corridor,…
Tesla and Chilean energy company Copec have announced a joint plan to expand fast-charging infrastructure along major highways in Chile, starting with a charging corridor in the country’s central region. Under the initiative, Tesla Superchargers will be installed at Copec service stations at intervals of roughly 200 kilometres, the companies said. One of the planned corridors will link the cities of La Serena and Puerto Montt, a distance of about 1,500 kilometres, with the aim of enabling uninterrupted long-distance electric vehicle travel.
