Autel Energy and ChargeLab have formed a strategic partnership to deploy integrated electric vehicle charging systems across Canada, combining hardware and cloud-based management into a unified offering.

Under the agreement, Autel’s MaxiCharger hardware lineup will be paired with ChargeLab’s charging station management system (CSMS), while EV-olution Charging Systems will act as a preferred distributor for the bundled solution.

The platform is built on the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP), enabling seamless communication between charging hardware and cloud software. It also incorporates ChargeLab’s Spark™ AI system, designed to automate diagnostics and improve uptime across charging networks.

The solution is tailored to Canada’s demanding operating environment, with chargers featuring NEMA 4X-rated enclosures and operating capabilities ranging from –40°C to 55°C. The system also includes built-in support for Canadian payment processing and compliance with regional tax structures, including GST, HST, PST and QST.

The offering spans Autel’s full MaxiCharger portfolio, including AC and DC solutions such as AC Elite, AC Pro, AC Ultra, DC Fast, DC Compact and DC HiPower units. Integration with ChargeLab’s software enables features such as load balancing, access control, monetisation tools and real-time monitoring.

Operators will also be able to access cloud management plans starting at no cost, with automated handling of payments and tax compliance designed to reduce administrative workload. The platform also supports participation in carbon credit programmes aligned with Canadian Clean Fuel Regulations.

“By integrating that full lineup with ChargeLab’s CSMS and Spark™ AI, we’re giving Canadian site hosts and operators a single, purpose-built solution,” said Zak Lefevre, CEO of ChargeLab. “The system seamlessly handles commissioning, diagnostics, and carbon credits.”

“Our hardware is engineered to perform in the most demanding weather conditions on earth, and ChargeLab’s platform makes it easy to manage, monetize, and scale,” said Michelle Luo, CEO of Autel Energy North America.

“Local 24×7 support offered by ChargeLab is a key to customer satisfaction,” said Yuri Yudashkin, CTO of EV-olution Charging Systems.

The partnership reflects a broader trend in the EV charging sector toward tightly integrated hardware and software ecosystems, particularly in markets with complex regulatory and environmental conditions.
