Audi has opened order books in the United Kingdom for its new A2 e-tron compact electric car, with prices starting at £32,200 on the road. Customer deliveries are expected to begin in early 2027, as the automaker expands its electric vehicle lineup into the entry-level segment.

The UK launch follows the model’s European introduction in Germany last month, where Audi announced a starting price of €38,200 and initial deliveries scheduled for December 2026.

The A2 e-tron is designed to broaden Audi’s reach in the compact electric car market. It was unveiled in September and is based on the updated MEB platform developed by Volkswagen Group. Production takes place at Audi’s plant in Ingolstadt, Germany.

Four Battery and Power Configurations

The UK lineup comprises four versions with different battery capacities and power outputs.

The entry-level models feature 52 kWh and 61 kWh batteries, paired with power outputs of 170 PS and 190 PS, respectively. Both versions qualify for the UK government’s £1,500 Electric Car Grant, according to Audi.

Two higher-powered variants use 84 kWh batteries and deliver 231 PS and 326 PS.

Audi will offer three trim levels for the 52 kWh and 61 kWh versions: Technik, Sport and S line. The 84 kWh models will be available in Sport, S line and Edition 1 specifications.

The manufacturer has not provided additional driving-range or charging-performance figures in the UK order announcement.

Audi Expands Its Entry-Level Electric Offering

The A2 e-tron represents Audi’s latest effort to extend its electric vehicle portfolio into a more compact segment. Its use of Volkswagen Group’s updated MEB platform provides the underlying architecture for the new model, while production at Ingolstadt integrates the vehicle into Audi’s existing German manufacturing operations.

The model’s development also reflects a focus on production efficiency and vehicle packaging, according to the company.

José Miguel Aparicio, director of Audi UK, said the vehicle had been developed around efficiency and practical design considerations.

“The new Audi A2 e-tron is the embodiment of efficiency, not only through its advanced energy management, but across every aspect of its design and development. From its aerodynamic performance and intelligent interior packaging to its optimised production processes and responsible use of raw materials, the A2 e-tron has been engineered with purpose. It is ideally positioned to meet the needs of a growing number of Audi customers in the UK, while further strengthening our e-tron portfolio.”

UK Deliveries Expected in Early 2027

With UK orders now open, Audi is preparing to introduce the A2 e-tron to customers early next year. The starting price of £32,200 places the model at the entry point of the brand’s electric lineup in the UK.

The availability of four power and battery configurations gives customers a choice across different performance levels, while the government grant reduces the effective purchase cost of eligible versions.

The A2 e-tron’s rollout will begin in Germany before expanding to the UK. Audi has not announced further market-specific launch dates in the supplied information.
