In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Audi Sport GmbH, the German automaker has unveiled the Audi RS E-Tron GT Ice Race Edition. This limited-edition vehicle, restricted to just 99 units in Europe, pays homage to the legacy of Audi’s motorsport achievements. Building upon the E-Tron GT Ice Race Concept introduced in March 2023, the RS E-Tron GT Ice Race Edition boasts a distinctive exterior design and a host of interior enhancements.
The exterior of this unique model showcases a captivating blend of aesthetics. Its base color, Florett silver metallic, is complemented by a foil wrap featuring transparent sections, which adds depth to the overall design. Audi’s creative touch extends to the application of white shades over the base color, meticulously crafted to evoke the image of glistening ice crystals. The purple accents on the front and side sills provide a striking contrast, enhancing the vehicle’s visual appeal. Black 21-inch wheels, featuring five pairs of spokes, complete the commanding exterior profile.
The interior of the RS E-Tron GT Ice Race Edition exudes luxury and sophistication. Diamond silver leather adorns the seat center panels, shoulder arches, and side bolsters, while black elements and contrasting purple stitching create an exquisite atmosphere. The steering wheel, a fusion of leather and Alcantara, adds to the premium feel. Inside the cabin, the RS logo and Audi Exclusive badge grace the floor mats, while purple ambient lighting further enhances the vehicle’s ambiance.
A unique feature of this limited-edition model is the display of the vehicle’s serial number, prominently positioned on the bottom right of the infotainment system, denoting its exclusivity among the 99 units produced.
Christopher Kroener, color and trim designer at Audi, shared his inspiration for the RS E-Tron GT Ice Race Edition, stating, “I wanted the vehicle to pay homage to the thrilling motorsport atmosphere and the spirit of past racing legends, while looking to the future.”
Under the hood, the RS E-Tron GT Ice Race Edition shares the same powertrain as its standard counterpart, featuring an electric motor on each axle, delivering a total of 590 horsepower, with a boost mode pushing it to 637 horsepower. The vehicle’s acceleration capabilities are formidable, achieving 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds. The battery provides a range of 232 miles, contributing to the vehicle’s practicality as an electric sports car.
In parallel news from the United States, the 2024 E-Tron GT range has received notable updates. These updates include standard features such as Power Steering Plus, LED Interior Lighting Plus, and illuminated door sills across the lineup. The Prestige trim now boasts HD Matrix LED headlights and a Dinamica headliner, enhancing the overall driving experience for Audi enthusiasts in the American market.
