British car dealer Arnold Clark has announced a €35 million (£30 million) investment in expanding its electric vehicle (EV) charging network, with plans to install 500 ultra-rapid chargers at over 100 locations across England and Scotland.
The company has already installed 240 charge points and aims to equip its UK dealerships with charging stations featuring up to eight fast chargers per site, each capable of delivering 150 kW of power. The Arnold Clark Charge network will be accessible through the company’s app, with a charging rate of 55p/kWh, and most sites will operate 24/7.

“As electric vehicles become more and more common on UK roads, we know that our charging infrastructure needs to develop and grow to meet these increasing demands,” said Arnold Clark CEO Eddie Hawthorne. “That’s why we’ve heavily invested in our very own bookable ultra-rapid charging network across the country.”
The initiative builds on a prior collaboration with Kempower, which involved installing 150 kW ‘Satellite’ charge points at larger dealerships. While Arnold Clark has not confirmed whether Kempower will supply the new chargers, the company’s previous rollout featured between two and eight chargers per site, a model that may inform its upcoming expansion.
