Alpine, the Renault-owned performance brand, has just revealed the A110 E-ternite concept with an electric powertrain based on the existing A110 sports car.
The A110 E-ternite concept was launched to celebrate Alpine’s 60th anniversary on the eve of the French Grand Prix weekend. The A110 E-ternite concept uses the same battery module as the Renault Megane E-Tech with a reset to fit into the existing A110 chassis.
With a battery capacity of 60kWh, the A110 E-ternite has a range of up to 261 miles on a single charge.
The power produced is 239bhp and 300Nm of torque using the Renault Group’s ‘standard e-motor’, which drives the rear wheels. This car can accelerate from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds with a relatively high top speed for an EV of up to 155mph.
The most obvious physical difference compared to the A110 with an internal combustion engine is the open roof using carbon fiber.
On the inside, there’s a pack of entertainment settings with Android tablets that helps keep apps and their profiles centralized. The system also controls the in-car eight-speaker stereo.
Alpine has made no announcements about production plans. The all-electric A110 can be seen as a ‘bridge’ model between the A110 with an internal combustion engine and the Alpine all-electric sports car, which was co-developed with Lotus.
