Akima and CBRE Awarded Contract to Streamline EV Charging Installation for Federal Agencies in Western US

Akima Intra-Data, a subsidiary of the Alaskan native-owned Akima LLC, and its partner CBRE, a leading provider of commercial real estate services, have been awarded an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract by the General Services Administration (GSA) to support the installation of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) and related infrastructure improvements at federal agency locations in the Western United States.

This announcement comes after a recent executive action that set a goal of acquiring 100 percent zero-emission vehicles by 2035, which includes the installation of a zero-emission vehicle refueling infrastructure for the federal fleet. The Akima-CBRE partnership aims to streamline the EVSE ordering procedures and provide turn-key capabilities to plan, design, deliver, and operate a secure electric vehicle charging solution across the entirety of federal agencies’ portfolios, providing a single point of contact, best-in-market pricing, and diverse purchasing classification.

Scott Rauer, President of Akima’s Facilities Solutions Group, expressed his pride in partnering with CBRE to support the federal government’s zero-emission initiative, stating, “The Akima portfolio of companies has long provided facility and logistics capabilities to support the priorities of the United States government. We are proud to partner with CBRE and offer our expertise in support of the requirement for a Federal zero-emission initiative through this award.”

The partnership between Akima and CBRE combines Akima’s strong government experience in supporting distributed federal facilities and logistics systems with CBRE’s complete national coverage and more than a century of experience providing real estate asset planning, procurement, delivery, and management services across 90% of the Fortune 100™.

John Dunstan, CEO of CBRE GWS | Enterprise, emphasized the significance of this partnership and award, saying, “CBRE has long sought to bring forth our company’s deep global talents, leading buying power, and differentiated service platforms to measurably improve communities by aligning our impactful capabilities behind the bold public missions of sustainability, efficiency, and inclusion. This award marks a proud milestone in those efforts.”

With this partnership, federal agencies can rely on Akima and CBRE’s expertise to implement sustainable solutions that support the government’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote a cleaner and greener future.
