Aito, the premium electric vehicle brand backed by Huawei and Seres, has filed the latest version of its M7 sport utility vehicle with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, featuring a larger body, updated styling and a choice of extended-range electric (EREV) or pure electric powertrains.

The new M7 measures 5,080 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, with a 3,030 mm wheelbase, marking increases over the current model. It will be offered in both five-seat and six-seat configurations.

Design updates bring the M7 in line with the brand’s newer M8 model, with a closed front fascia, slim connected LED headlights, semi-hidden door handles, multi-spoke wheels and a new full-width rear light bar. Four wheel designs will be available in 20-inch and 21-inch sizes.

Powertrain choices include EREV and pure electric versions, each offered in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The EREV uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged range extender producing 118 kW, with drive motors delivering up to 392 kW in total output. The pure electric variant matches that peak power figure in its dual-motor form, with all configurations capable of reaching 200 kph.

The model will incorporate Huawei’s ADS 4 intelligent driving system, featuring a 4D millimetre-wave radar matrix, corner radars and a rear solid-state LiDAR. Positioned in the premium SUV segment, the new M7 is expected to compete with the Li Auto L7, Xiaomi YU7, Wey Lanshan and Xpeng G9.
