Acura Unveils ZDX Electric Crossover Set to Debut at Monterey Car Week

Acura has announced the much-anticipated debut of the ZDX electric crossover during the Monterey Car Week on August 17. This revelation comes a year after the official confirmation of the ZDX’s return to the market. Offering a glimpse of the upcoming model, Acura has released a captivating teaser, showcasing the vehicle’s front end in its entirety.

Inspired by the 2022 Acura Precision EV concept, the ZDX features an elegant design with subtly toned-down elements. The front fascia boasts a pair of slender LED headlights, an illuminated version of Acura’s iconic Diamond Pentagon grille, and sporty bumper intakes. While spy shots have already revealed the rest of the EV’s bodywork with minimal camouflage, Acura enthusiasts can expect an alluring and modern design.

Crafted at the Acura Design Studio in Southern California, the ZDX will be available in two variants – the standard ZDX and the performance-focused ZDX Type S. The latter is poised to become “the most powerful and quickest accelerating SUV in the brand’s history,” promising an exhilarating driving experience for the electric vehicle market.

Underpinning the Acura ZDX is the GM Ultium platform, renowned for its robust dual electric motor setup found in other related models like the Chevrolet Blazer EV. This platform ensures a powerful and efficient performance, further adding to the ZDX’s appeal.

Additionally, Acura has revealed that the ZDX will be the brand’s first model to come equipped with Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play Store, seamlessly integrated right from the factory. Furthermore, the ZDX will feature a Bang & Olufsen audio system, making it the pioneer Acura vehicle to offer this premium audio experience. A partnership between Acura and Bang & Olufsen ensures that this feature will become standard across the brand’s model range in the years to come.
