German wallbox manufacturer ABL has introduced its first DC charging station, the Supernova 220, developed by Spanish parent company Wallbox Chargers. The charger is tailored to meet the regulatory requirements of the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), including Eichrecht certification for public-sector use in Germany and Austria.
The Supernova 220, originally launched by Wallbox Chargers in 2020, is now adapted for the German-speaking markets with ABL’s expertise in calibration law compliance. The charging station offers modular functionality with three power levels—75 kW, 150 kW, and 220 kW—making it a scalable solution for various applications. Equipped with six independent power modules, the station ensures easy maintenance and high reliability. Its all-in-one design eliminates the need for an external control cabinet, streamlining installation.
“Dependable fast-charging solutions such as Supernova will be crucial to support the rising demand for quick and efficient charging options,” said Enric Asunción, CEO of Wallbox. “Supernova’s Eichrecht certification underscores the advanced technology and precision engineering behind our DC fast charger and will open doors for Wallbox in Germany and the broader DACH region.”
In addition to its technical specifications, the Supernova 220 features a touchscreen interface and supports multiple contactless payment methods, providing flexibility for charging point operators. With Germany accelerating the deployment of EV infrastructure, ABL aims to position the Supernova as a key solution in the region’s fast-charging landscape.
