Nio has released new images of its highly anticipated ET9 executive sedan ahead of its official debut on December 21, 2024, during Nio Day. The images, showcasing a blue exterior, offer a glimpse into the sedan’s design and innovative features.
Nio Day, taking place this Saturday in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, will also focus on the launch of Nio’s sub-brand Firefly and its first model.
The ET9, which was first unveiled at Nio Day 2023 with a starting price of RMB 800,000 ($109,810), marks Nio’s entry into the high-end electric sedan market.
The sedan is set to begin deliveries in the first quarter of 2025. The vehicle will feature Nio’s advanced 5 nm Shenji autonomous driving chip and a SkyRide intelligent chassis system, offering significant height adjustments for enhanced comfort.
Additionally, the ET9 will be the first vehicle in China to feature steer-by-wire (SBW) technology, which recently received approval for mass production.
Nio’s new vehicle lineup, which currently ranges from RMB 300,000 to RMB 600,000, will be expanded with the introduction of its sub-brands.
The Onvo sub-brand will focus on vehicles priced between RMB 200,000 and RMB 300,000, while Firefly is expected to cover the RMB 100,000 to RMB 200,000 segment, targeting the electric Mini and Smart markets.
