Hitachi ZeroCarbon Partners with COBUS Industries to Enhance Electric Bus Fleet Management

Hitachi ZeroCarbon has formed a strategic partnership with COBUS Industries, a provider of airport mobility solutions. As part of the collaboration, Hitachi will equip 100 e.COBUS Extended Range (ER) buses worldwide with its ZeroCarbon BatteryManager solution by 2025. This system will monitor the performance and health of the buses’ EV battery assets, with the aim of reducing total cost of ownership (TCO), extending battery life, and improving residual value.

The partnership will provide COBUS and its customers with detailed data on EV battery performance, helping to minimize degradation risk, optimize route planning, and support proactive maintenance. The solution offers real-time monitoring and forecasting to assist with decision-making and improve operational planning.

Patricia Vasconcelos, CEO of COBUS Industries, highlighted the importance of sustainability in airport mobility. “Electrifying our bus network is an important step, and with Hitachi ZeroCarbon, we have a scalable solution that can help manage our EV battery assets more effectively,” she said.

Ram Ramachander, CEO of Hitachi ZeroCarbon, emphasized the need for managing EV batteries in various operational environments. “This partnership demonstrates how EV battery assets can perform in different climates and terrains while supporting fleet management and minimizing operational risks,” he said.
