BYD and autonomous driving technology company MOGOX have jointly unveiled an 8.5-metre right-hand-drive Level 4 autonomous electric bus at Singapore Urban Mobility Week (SUMW 2026), marking the global debut of the B90 model.
The vehicle is built on BYD’s electric bus platform and integrates MOGOX’s proprietary MOGO AutoPilot autonomous driving system. Designed for international markets, the B90 is intended to accommodate different traffic regulations, road conditions and operating requirements through a modular approach that reduces the need for repeated vehicle and system development.
BYD and MOGOX Combine Electric Bus and Autonomous Driving Technologies
The collaboration brings together BYD’s electric bus engineering and manufacturing capabilities with MOGOX’s autonomous driving software, system integration and operational experience.
By integrating the vehicle hardware and autonomous driving systems during manufacturing, the companies aim to improve compatibility and support more scalable production and deployment across different markets.
The B90 features a low-floor design and an ultra-short rear overhang, intended to improve manoeuvrability on narrow urban roads while making boarding easier for elderly passengers and people with reduced mobility.
MOGO AutoPilot Adapted for Right-Hand-Drive Markets
MOGO AutoPilot combines camera systems with solid-state LiDAR to support autonomous operation in complex urban environments. MOGOX has adapted the system for left-hand traffic and right-hand-drive markets, including Singapore.
The technology is designed to handle mixed traffic conditions, intersections and approaches to bus stops.
MOGOX has also adjusted its driving models, sensor configurations and hardware for extended operating periods. Its modular architecture covers seven areas of localisation: regulations, applications, vehicle platforms, autonomous driving configurations, operating conditions, fleet management and local service networks.
The company said these reusable components are intended to reduce deployment time when introducing autonomous buses in new markets.
Singapore Serves as Starting Point for Overseas Expansion
Singapore is a central part of MOGOX’s international expansion strategy. The company has secured a contract for the country’s first official Level 4 autonomous bus project and passed Milestone 1 (M1) testing conducted by the Land Transport Authority.
MOGOX has also partnered with ComfortDelGro Bus on autonomous mobility initiatives and local workforce training.
Its international partnerships extend beyond Singapore. The company is working with Sales-Lentz Group and Clément Bayard in Luxembourg, as well as LG Electronics and BYDA in South Korea.
In China, MOGOX said its MOGOBUS vehicles have been deployed in more than 20 cities for public transport, tourism and shuttle services.
Focus on Scalable Autonomous Public Transport
Through its partnership with BYD, MOGOX aims to develop factory-integrated autonomous electric buses that can be adapted to different operating environments without repeating extensive development work for each market.
The B90’s global debut in Singapore provides an initial showcase of the companies’ approach to combining electric bus manufacturing with autonomous driving systems for potential deployment in international public transport networks.
