Costco Wholesale has partnered with North American EV charging network Electrify America to install a series of DC fast chargers at select store locations, now operational in three states. This collaboration aims to provide a more convenient and fast charging experience for electric vehicle (EV) drivers.

The chargers are located at five Costco stores in California, Colorado, and Florida. The network of chargers, which can deliver up to 350 kW of power, is part of Electrify America’s growing infrastructure, which currently boasts over 4,000 charging stations across 47 states and the District of Columbia. While Electrify America remains a significant player in the US EV charging landscape, the addition of Tesla’s Supercharger network, now open to all EV makes and models, means it will no longer be the largest public network.

The newly installed DC fast chargers at Costco locations include the following:

  • Clermont, Florida: 6 Hyper-Fast chargers
  • Denver, Colorado: 6 Hyper-Fast chargers
  • Loomis, California: 14 Hyper-Fast chargers
  • Pleasanton, California: 10 Hyper-Fast chargers
  • Sacramento, California: 10 Hyper-Fast chargers

Electrify America’s chargers are integrated into its US network, making it easy for drivers to locate and pay for a charging session via the company’s app. While this initial rollout is limited to a few states, the collaboration between Costco and Electrify America could pave the way for further expansion of EV charging infrastructure at Costco locations across the country. The chargers are available for nearly all EV makes and models, though Nissan LEAF owners will need to find alternative charging stations.
