Tesla has unveiled its highly anticipated 2024 Holiday Update, packed with new features and improvements aimed at enhancing the owner experience. This update brings several long-requested features, including the launch of the Tesla app on the Apple Watch, marking a significant milestone for Tesla owners who can now use their Apple Watch as a phone key. Additionally, the update allows users to monitor battery charge, open the frunk, and activate climate control directly from their smartwatch.

Another major addition is the ability to save Dashcam and Sentry Mode footage to your phone, enabling users to edit and share these clips more easily, a feature previously unavailable. Other updates include improvements to the Model 3 with the introduction of Autoshift, which automatically switches between Drive and Reverse, making parking maneuvers and multi-point turns smoother.

Tesla owners can now also enjoy SiriusXM on the Model 3, Model Y, and upcoming Cybertruck, as well as set arrival energy levels for their destination to ensure they arrive with the ideal battery charge. The update also introduces enhanced navigation features, including search results along your route with estimated detour times and a precipitation map for weather updates at your destination.

For safety, the new Rear Cross Traffic Alert system will notify drivers of pedestrians or vehicles crossing behind them when in Reverse. The Cybertruck also receives several fun and customizable updates, such as custom wraps and license plate personalization for the avatar, rear camera feed improvements, and a “Santa Mode” turning the vehicle into Santa’s sleigh.

Additional features include a schedule option for Tesla’s Light Show from the app, an action-packed party game called Boomerang Fu, and an amusing “Fart on Contact” feature for some lighthearted fun. For convenience, owners can now adjust the passenger seat from the controls and track maintenance items through the vehicle’s touchscreen, further enhancing the Tesla experience.
