Chrysler is planning to expand its lineup with a fully electric version of the Pacifica minivan, according to CEO Christine Feuell, who shared the news at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show.
While specific details on the design or launch timeline remain under wraps, Feuell hinted that the EV would draw styling inspiration from the Halcyon concept, unveiled earlier this year. Chrysler did not immediately comment further when reached for confirmation.
The Halcyon concept, introduced in February 2024, is a sleek sedan built on the STLA Large platform. It reflects Chryslerâs shift towards modern, future-oriented designs.
This follows the 2022 Airflow concept, an electric crossover that appeared close to production but was shelved in 2023 in favor of more contemporary ideas. Notably, the Pacifica EV will eventually share its platform with the Airflow, showcasing a mix of Halcyon-inspired styling and a push toward electrification.
While Chrysler is slated to debut its first electric vehicleâa crossover influenced by the Airflow conceptâsometime in 2025, delays across Stellantis brands have raised questions about whether the timeline will hold. The Pacifica EV is expected to follow as part of a significant update to the current Pacifica in 2026, potentially launching in late 2026 or 2027.
The brandâs future remains uncertain amid financial challenges faced by Stellantis. CEO Carlos Tavares has warned that underperforming brands within the conglomerate, which includes Chrysler, could face cuts within the next two to three years, putting pressure on Chrysler to deliver its EV ambitions successfully.
