Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has introduced its innovative electric car chassis, showcasing cutting-edge features including a quad-motor drive system, intelligent chassis, and 48-volt electronic systems. The upgraded platform, integrated into a modified SU7 model, aims to deliver exceptional performance, comfort, and energy efficiency.
The quad-motor drive system boasts an impressive output of 1,511 kW, equivalent to over 2,000 horsepower. This includes two “Super Motor V8” units, each delivering up to 425 kW, and likely enhanced motors on the front axle for torque vectoring. This capability allows precise power distribution to individual wheels, enabling advanced maneuvers such as turning on the spot. Xiaomi has yet to release full specifications for the system but hints at potential applications for a wider range of electric vehicles.
The intelligent chassis, equipped with seven suspension struts and active actuators, introduces both functionality and flair. Designed for comfort and control, the system offers dynamic features such as the ability to “dance” for display purposes. With a lifting force exceeding 44,000 newtons and a maximum lift height of 140 millimeters, the chassis demonstrates exceptional strength and adaptability. Bosch components are integrated to enhance the system’s capabilities.
Xiaomi also unveiled its proprietary 48-volt system, replacing traditional hydraulic and mechanical controls with software-driven solutions. Supporting line-controlled steering and braking, the system adjusts forces in real-time for optimized control and comfort. Additionally, the 48-volt braking system improves energy efficiency, contributing to a modest range extension of approximately 10 kilometers.
With these advancements, Xiaomi aims to bring high-performance electric vehicle technology to a broader market, signaling a significant step forward in its automotive ambitions.
