Kempower has secured a contract to provide fast charging stations to ABC-Lataus, a Finnish charging operator, which aims to establish multiple charging parks this year. Additionally, a sales and service agreement has been formed with Turkey’s Ecoline Group, which is also working on developing charging infrastructure in the country.
Under the new order, Kempower will supply fast-charging solutions to ABC-Lataus. In October, ABC opened Finlandâs largest public fast-charging station for electric vehicles in Heinola, featuring 32 charging points with a combined output of 2.4 MW. Kempower provided 27 high-power charging stations for this site, along with the remaining charging infrastructure.
According to ABCâs website, the station includes 20 CCS charging points, each capable of delivering up to 400 kW, along with seven additional CCS points offering up to 150 kW, a CHAdeMO option providing up to 50 kW, and four AC charging points with up to 22 kW each. The charging hardware utilized is Kempowerâs Satellite system; however, as the siteâs total power is 2.4 megawatts, this power is distributed dynamically among the charging points, preventing all from operating at full capacity simultaneously.
By the end of this year, ABC-Lataus plans to open three more large fast-charging sites featuring Kempower solutions. Antti Jokelainen, Head of Sales for Finland and the Baltics at Kempower, stated, âPartnering with ABC-Lataus to expand Finlandâs fast-charging network is an important step towards advancing sustainable transportation in the country. With 2.4 MW of total capacity, this site demonstrates our commitment to delivering high-performance charging, even during peak demand.â
In addition to its efforts in Finland, Kempower has formed a partnership with the Ecoline Group in Turkey, where the electric vehicle market has reportedly grown by 94% year-over-year, enhancing its attractiveness. Under this partnership, Ecoline Group will be responsible for procuring, distributing, and installing Kempowerâs fast-charging solutions for various customers, including charge point operators, public transport authorities, port authorities, and municipalities.
Kempower’s international expansion continues, having established fast charging infrastructure in Hyderabad, India, in September, and developing charging networks in Slovenia and Croatia during the summer in collaboration with TurboVolt.
