Kia America recorded its best-ever October sales, achieving 68,908 units sold, alongside its highest dealer sales for the month. This achievement is attributed to strong performances across its electrified vehicle lineup and SUVs.
Sales for Kia’s all-electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid vehicles rose significantly, with increases of 70%, 65%, and 49%, respectively, compared to the previous year. This surge contributed to the brand’s highest-ever sales for electrified models in October.
Additionally, SUV sales represented a record high for the month, making up 73% of total sales and underscoring the popularity of Kia’s SUV lineup. The EV6, Kia’s first dedicated electric model, set a new October sales record with 1,941 units sold, bringing total EV6 sales for the year to over 17,700. Meanwhile, the EV9, Kia’s first three-row electric SUV, surpassed expectations with 17,911 units sold through October, exceeding the EV6 despite its higher price point.
With the recent production start at the West Point, GA plant, the EV9 is expected to become more accessible to US consumers, especially with the potential for a full $7,500 federal tax credit next year. Kia is also offering incentives to match this credit.
Furthermore, Kia plans to expand its electric vehicle offerings with the upcoming EV9 GT, which promises “enormous power.” The 2025 EV9, starting at $54,900, reflects a slight price increase over the 2024 model while aiming to deliver enhanced value and performance.
