Ford has officially commenced deliveries of its battery-electric Capri, produced at its Cologne facility, to dealerships and customers throughout Europe. The launch of the electric SUV marks a significant step in Ford’s transition to electrification, as the company moves forward with its production plans.

The Capri, which has generated considerable interest, has seen nearly 200,000 European customers configure their personal model variants online. At the initial launch, the vehicle is available in three options: the Standard Range RWD and two Extended Range variants, one with RWD and another with AWD. Prices in Germany start at €44,950 for the Standard Range, escalating to €51,950 for the Extended Range AWD variant, with the top-tier model priced at €55,950.

All variants of the Capri share a top speed of 180 kph, but they differ in battery capacity and power output. Battery options range from 52 kWh to 79 kWh, with power outputs varying from 125 kW for the Standard Range to 250 kW for the Extended Range AWD. Notably, the Extended Range RWD variant boasts the highest range, capable of traveling up to 627 km on a single charge.

Jon Williams, General Manager of Ford Blue and Model e in Europe, expressed enthusiasm for the new model, stating, “Our new all-electric Capri is the car the iconic sports coupe was destined to become. Its return has been well worth the wait, and we couldn’t be more excited to see a new generation about to experience the style and swagger that made Capri such a legend.”

As the Capri makes its way to dealerships, Ford aims to enhance its electric vehicle lineup and cater to the growing demand for sustainable mobility options.
