Luxury electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Lucid Motors continues to lead in range performance with its Air sedan. A recent range test of the 2025 model year Air Grand Touring revealed that it surpassed 500 miles before depleting the battery, setting a new benchmark for the longest-range EV tested by the Out of Spec reviews channel.

In an episode shared over the weekend, Kyle Conner drove the 2025 Lucid Air Grand Touring over 500 miles using 19-inch aero wheels, although the vehicle was originally delivered with 21-inch wheels.

The test, conducted on a 70 mph highway range loop, saw Conner exceed 520 miles, even utilizing only dim parking lights to conserve the 12-volt battery as the test concluded.

The Air Grand Touring, priced from $112,400, is Lucid’s highest-ranged configuration for the sedan, following the ultra-luxury Sapphire trim, which starts at $250,500.

The Grand Touring is rated for 480 miles of range, compared to 382 miles for the Touring trim and 365 miles for the Pure trim. The Sapphire model offers a range of 427 miles.

Lucid Motors, which is also preparing to start production of its Gravity SUV, recently received a $1.5 billion investment from its majority owner, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which holds a 59.4% stake.

The funding is expected to support the company’s path to profitability. Lucid also established its first EV factory in Saudi Arabia last year, producing around 800 units by year-end.
