The Goodwood Festival of Speed, established in 1993, is renowned as one of the world’s premier motorsports festivals, traditionally held in Goodwood, England, during June and July each year. This year’s event promises a showcase of numerous new cars, including BYD’s Yangwang U9 electric supercar.

Shao shared a video on Weibo revealing a preliminary outline of the MG Cyber GTS concept, indicating it will be a hardtop sports car.

The MG Cyberster, launched at the Guangzhou auto show, is an affordable electric sports car currently available in three variants in China, priced from RMB 319,800 ($44,000) to RMB 359,800. Built on the MG Cyber Cube platform, the two-seater measures 4,535 mm in length, 1,913 mm in width, 1,329 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,690 mm.

The top-tier MG Cyberster model boasts dual electric motors delivering 400 kW of power and 725 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.2 seconds. The single-motor variants offer 231 kW and 250 kW respectively, achieving 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

SAIC faces challenges in Europe due to increased tariffs, with the European Commission imposing additional duties of 37.6% on Chinese EV imports from July 5, on top of the existing 10% tariff. SAIC has protested these tariffs, citing concerns over the fairness of the European Commission’s anti-subsidy investigation.
