Leapmotor has unveiled the C16, its latest offering in the competitive mid-size SUV market. At a recent launch event, the company introduced both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants of the C16, expanding its C-series lineup.
The C16 EREV model offers three variants, priced from RMB 155,800 to RMB 179,800, while the BEV variant is available in three options priced between RMB 161,800 and RMB 185,800. Leapmotor plans initial deliveries of the C16 starting in July, aiming to distribute approximately 2,000 units in the first month and ramping up to over 5,000 units monthly by August.

Both EREV and BEV versions share a common platform size, measuring 4,915 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,770 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. The EREV variant features a 1.5 L range-extender engine and a 50 L fuel tank, complementing its 28.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack capable of fast charging from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes.
Equipped with a rear electric motor delivering 170 kW peak power and 320 Nm peak torque, the C16 EREV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.46 seconds. Meanwhile, the C16 BEV, based on an 800 V platform, features a 67.7 kWh LFP battery offering a range of 520 km and rapid charging from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes.

Both variants showcase advanced technology, including an Nvidia Drive Orin chip with 254 Tops of computing power in the highest-priced models and a LiDAR system with 128 channels. The smart cockpit integrates a Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P chip, enhancing user experience with cutting-edge features.
Leapmotor, established in 2015, continues to expand its market presence with a range of models like the T03, C01, C10, and C11, all available in BEV and EREV configurations except for the T03.
