Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has vowed to overturn numerous environmental rules and policies implemented by the Biden administration, as reported by the Washington Post. During a meeting with top U.S. oil executives, Trump also requested that they raise $1 billion for his presidential campaign.

According to sources familiar with the meeting, Trump promised to roll back President Joe Biden’s emissions rules aimed at promoting electric vehicles and to lift the Biden administration’s freeze on permits for new liquefied natural gas exports, among other actions.

Trump reportedly described giving $1 billion as a “deal” for the oil executives. Attendees at the meeting included the CEOs of Venture Global and Cheniere Energy, as well as representatives from Chevron, Continental Resources, Exxon, and Occidental Petroleum.

Representatives for Trump’s campaign did not provide comment, while Exxon stated they had no details to share. Representatives for the other companies did not respond to requests for comment.

Trump, who is set to face Biden in the November 5 presidential election, has pledged to undo much of the Democratic president’s climate change initiatives. In contrast, Biden has emphasized his administration’s climate efforts as beneficial for both the environment and the economy, a key focus of his re-election campaign.

During the meeting at Trump’s private club, he also mentioned plans to auction off more leases for oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, reverse drilling restrictions in the Alaskan Arctic, and reiterated his criticisms of wind power.
