Nissan has introduced the seven-seater Evalia variant of its Townstar, offering an all-electric drive option for private customers. This model represents the passenger car version of the Townstar EV electric panel van, catering to private consumers.
The Townstar Evalia EV features a 90 kW output and a 45 kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 265 kilometers. The panel van version achieves up to 300 kilometers in the WLTP test, as it is measured with an empty load compartment, unlike the Evalia with additional seats and more equipment. AC charging operates at 22 kW, while DC charging uses CCS technology instead of CHAdeMO, in line with Renault technology. The battery can be charged from 15 to 80 percent in 37 minutes with up to 80 kW charging.
In contrast to the commercial version, the Evalia for private customers is exclusively available with the longer wheelbase and offers five or optionally seven seats. The rear seats can be individually folded down or removed, allowing the Evalia to transform from a seven-seater to a five-seater or even a two-seater with up to 3,750 liters of load space.
The wide sliding rear doors are designed for easy access to the second and third-row seats, making everyday tasks such as loading groceries, business deliveries, or managing school runs more convenient, according to Nissan.
The Evalia comes equipped with the “Nissan Intelligent Around View Monitor,” blind-spot warning system, intelligent emergency braking assistant, drowsiness warnings, tyre pressure monitoring, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, and e-call functionality, enhancing safety and driver performance.
Pricing for the Townstar Evalia EV has not been disclosed yet. However, considering the panel van’s starting price of 40,162 euros, the Evalia is expected to be slightly more expensive.
