Monaco Energy Boat Challenge Showcases Electric Marine Propulsion Innovations

Monaco’s historic harbor is gearing up for a significant marine race event that will showcase the latest advancements in electric marine propulsion technology, thanks to a collaboration between the Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) and the International Electric Marine Association (IEMA). The event will see teams from top universities worldwide competing and presenting their work in the field.

The partnership between YCM and IEMA aims to accelerate the adoption of sustainable technologies in marine mobility. By leveraging their combined expertise and networks, the organizations seek to raise awareness and draw attention to electric marine technologies, particularly highlighting the work being done in university innovation labs and technology departments.

Adria Jover, President of IEMA, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are pleased to partner with The Yacht Club de Monaco for the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. This collaboration underscores our commitment to advancing sustainable practices in marine transportation and encouraging academic involvement.”

The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, an annual event organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco in collaboration with IEAMA, showcases the latest advancements in marine technology and sustainability. As part of the ‘Monaco Capital of Advanced Yachting’ initiative, the event, scheduled from 1st to 6th July, aims to promote sustainability in the maritime industry and encourage the adoption of eco-friendly practices on the world’s oceans.

Bernard d’Alessandri, General Secretary of the Yacht Club de Monaco, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to collaborate with IEMA for the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. Together, we can drive positive change in the Yachting sector and pave the way for a more sustainable future, involving the new generation of engineers and players in the industry.”
