Milence, a charging infrastructure provider backed by Daimler Truck, Traton, and the Volvo Group, has inaugurated its Milence charge park in France, strategically located in the logistics district of Agglomeration Seine Eure. This site serves as a vital route for freight forwarders and heavy goods vehicles travelling between Paris and key logistics centers in Normandy, including Le Havre, Caen, Dieppe, and Rouen.

The charge park, positioned just four minutes from the A13 motorway, currently offers four charging bays equipped with Alpitronic chargers, boasting up to 400 kW power (CCS). Milence has ensured convenience for drivers by providing nearby facilities, such as toilets, showers, and a restaurant.

In its upcoming expansion phase, slated for completion by the year’s end, Milence plans to introduce additional charging bays featuring Megawatt Charging System (MCS) technology. The company also intends to install its amenities, including dedicated toilets and showers, tailored to the specific needs of truck drivers.

Milence has ambitious plans to install 1,700 charging points across Europe by 2027, as part of its commitment to its shareholders. The company’s first charging park is already operational in Venlo near the Dutch-German border, with openings in the Belgian port of Antwerp-Bruges and Varberg in southwest Sweden slated for the current quarter. Furthermore, a location in Ghent, Belgium, is in the works.

To ensure accessibility for all trucks on the market, Milence is forging contracts with various e-Mobility Service Providers (eMSP) in Europe, enabling their cards to be used for payment. The company’s standard tariff is 40 cents per kWh, excluding VAT and transaction costs.

CEO of Milence, Anja van Niersen, sees the new French hub as a model for the company’s roadmap. She stated, “Over the past two years, we have extensively prepared our organization, developed the right technology, and secured sites in 15 countries. We are now in full roll-out, and this is just the beginning. Further expansion in several key locations along major logistics routes will follow in the coming months.”
