Rivian R1S owners have received exclusive emails from the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, announcing priority delivery for the upcoming R2 model. The email states, “As an R1S owner, we’re excited to offer you priority delivery when you reserve your R2 so you can be among the first to experience our next adventure.”
While the offer is currently limited to R1S owners, many in the Rivian community speculate that R1T owners may also receive similar priority for R2 deliveries. To qualify for this priority, Rivian owners must use the same email address they used to reserve their R1S and reside in the United States or Canada.

The Rivian R2 is expected to have a starting price of $45,000. Securing a reservation for the R2 requires a $100 deposit. This base price is likely for the entry-level R2 RWD variant. Deliveries for the R2 are slated to begin in the second half of 2026 at Rivian’s Normal factory in Illinois.
The R2 is projected to offer a range of over 300 miles and accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds. It is also noted to be shorter than the R1S by 400 mm (15.7 inches), with dimensions of 4,715 mm (185.6 inches) in length, 1,700 mm (66 inches) in height, and a wheelbase of 2,935 mm (115.5 inches).
