Leap24, a Dutch provider of EV charging infrastructure, has announced a strategic partnership with Shurgard Self-Storage to deploy fast chargers at approximately 70 Shurgard locations across the UK and the Netherlands.
This collaboration aims to enhance accessibility to fast-charging infrastructure for electric vehicle owners, supporting the transition to sustainable mobility solutions.
According to Leap24, 46 of these fast chargers will be installed in the Netherlands, with the remaining 24 located in and around London. Each location will feature a 240 kW charging station with two connections, ensuring efficient charging for EVs.
Construction is scheduled to commence this year in London, with all charging points accessible to the public, not just Shurgard customers.
Under the agreement, Shurgard will provide the locations, while Leap24 will oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of the fast-charging stations. Pelle Schlichting, Founder of Leap24, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that “The collaboration between Shurgard and LEAP24 provides a unique boost to the realization of emission-free mobility hubs.”

Leap24, founded in 2021, is dedicated to establishing a comprehensive network of ultra-fast charging stations in the Netherlands, the UK, and Germany. This initiative aims to support companies in transitioning their transport and logistics operations to electric vehicles. In 2022, Leap24 announced plans to deploy around 240 fast charging stations specifically designed for commercial vehicles.
The partnership with Shurgard reflects Leap24’s strategic approach to meeting the growing demand for sustainable mobility and logistics solutions in urban areas. The company believes that “Flexible storage spaces combined with ultra-fast charging stations are the ideal solution for more sustainable urban logistics and last-mile deliveries.”
