Like Tesla and NIO, Xpeng has just announced their annual sales for 2021. The leading electric vehicle company from China announced that it had delivered 16,000 Smart EVs in December 2021. This number exceeds the average monthly shipment of 15,000 units. This achievement is impressive because there are global supply chain challenges. December shipments showed an 181% increase over the same month in 2020. This demonstrates the Company’s solid business momentum and execution capabilities.
Delivery details for December 2021 include 7,459 P7 smart sports sedans, 5,030 P5 smart family sedans and 3,511 G3 and G3i smart SUVs. The P7 and G3 series have increased 102% and 75% from year to year. The P5 model saw an increase of 134% month-on-month, which continued to increase with a solid number of orders.
Total shipments for the fourth quarter of 2021 totaled 41,751 units, a 222% year-over-year increase, including 21,342 P7 shipments.
Total vehicle deliveries for 2021 stood at 98,155, an increase of 263% year-on-year. Cumulative P7 shipments for the year stood at 60,569, representing a 302% increase over 2020. A total of 29,721 G3 and G3i smart SUVs were delivered in 2021, an increase of 148% year-on-year. A total of 7,865 P5s were delivered in 2021.
As of December 31, 2021, total cumulative Smart EV shipments stood at 137,953.
XPeng continues to rapidly expand its network in China with 661 charging stations in 228 cities. In addition, Xpeng operates 311 physical retail stores in 121 cities by the end of November 2021.
