WeRide’s Robotaxi Fleet Successfully Completes Trial Operations in Inner Mongolia’s Ordos

Guangzhou-based autonomous driving startup, WeRide, announced the continued operation of its robotaxi fleet in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, following a successful trial period of one month and a half. The fleet, the first of its kind in the region, currently boasts 42 stops throughout the city, allowing local residents to conveniently hail rides using their smartphones.

WeRide has affirmed its commitment to enhancing the service in Ordos by progressively increasing the number of stops, aiming to cater to a growing number of passengers in the city.

During the trial operations, WeRide’s autonomous vehicles completed over 1,000 trips, serving more than 2,000 passengers in Ordos, demonstrating the reliability and efficiency of their Level 4 autonomous driving solutions.

Established in 2017, WeRide has become a prominent player in the autonomous driving industry, specializing in cutting-edge technology. The startup’s global presence spans across 26 cities, with its entire fleet accumulating an impressive mileage of approximately 25 million kilometers.

WeRide’s continued success in Ordos reflects the growing acceptance and integration of autonomous vehicles in diverse urban landscapes.
