Jeep announced that its recently launched Avenger model has garnered an impressive cumulative total of more than 40,000 orders. This achievement has undoubtedly left the company in high spirits, particularly due to the fact that over 40 percent of these orders are for the all-electric versions, despite the majority still favoring gasoline-powered models.

Data released by Automotive News Europe, citing figures from Dataforce, reveals that Jeep Avenger registrations through August reached a noteworthy 18,487 units. Notably, 31 percent of these registrations were for the all-electric variant, a segment that has been steadily gaining traction. In the month of August alone, electric Avenger models accounted for a substantial 58 percent of registrations.

The Avenger, which made its debut at the Paris Auto Show last year, is proudly manufactured at Stellantis’ state-of-the-art plant in Poland. The base price for the fully loaded 1st Edition trim level of the electric model started at approximately $41,500 (ā‚¬39,500).

Under the hood, the Avenger boasts a robust 54-kilowatt-hour battery coupled with a 115-kilowatt electric motor, placed at the front due to its front-wheel-drive configuration. Impressively, it boasts a European WLTP driving range rating of 342 miles (550 kilometers). For those still favoring internal combustion engines, the ICE version with a compact 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine remains an attractive choice, with widespread availability across Europe, catering to a diverse range of customers.

Jeep attributes the recent surge in Avenger sales to the commencement of deliveries in additional European markets. This success is further underscored by the brand’s presence in the B-SUV plug-in segment in Europe, where it has achieved a notable 10.6 percent market share. Remarkably, in Italy, this figure soars to nearly 50 percent, primarily due to the immense popularity of the Renegade, which commands a 7.9 percent share in the B-SUV segment.

In a parallel development, the Jeep Renegade 4xe, a plug-in hybrid model, recorded over 32,000 registrations during the first eight months of the year, outpacing the 2022 figure of 31,705 registrations.

Stellantis’ Jeep brand has adopted an intriguing strategy of offering both plug-in hybrid and all-electric options for various models, a move that is evidently paying off as sales of rechargeable cars continue to exhibit consistent growth. It remains to be seen how long Jeep can sustain this upward trajectory, with the promise of standalone all-electric models on the horizon. Jeep’s success in the European market serves as a testament to its commitment to innovation and adapting to evolving consumer preferences.
