California-based electric vehicle (EV) startup, Rivian, has introduced a new option for potential customers seeking a faster delivery of its R1T electric trucks. The company now offers ready-made R1T configurations equipped with the Large Pack battery and its proprietary dual-motor drivetrain, significantly reducing the typical waiting time associated with custom orders.
This development comes as welcome news for EV enthusiasts, as Rivian has been known for extended waiting periods, often lasting up to four months for custom-built vehicles. The preconfigured R1T models aim to streamline the purchasing process, allowing buyers to secure their new EVs in as little as one week.

The availability of more than 100 prebuilt R1T trucks was first reported by a member of the Rivian Forums, vandy1981, who is located near the company’s service center in Franklin, Tennessee. Notably, some of these preconfigured R1T models were priced as low as $72,500 for a Performance dual-motor variant equipped with the Large Battery pack.
This pricing contrast is striking when compared to the current cost of a built-to-order R1T, which, according to Rivian’s online configurator, starts at $84,000. It’s important to note that Rivian raised prices across its entire model lineup by 17 to 20 percent in the previous year. However, the company decided to maintain the original pricing for existing reservations.

Rivian’s dual-motor drivetrain, known as “Enduro,” is noteworthy for being developed and manufactured in-house at the company’s facility in Normal, Illinois. This stands in contrast to the quad-motor setup, which is supplied by Bosch. The Enduro motor initially found its application in Rivian’s Amazon Electric Delivery Van (EDV) before being integrated into the automaker’s passenger vehicle lineup.
Equipped with the Large Battery pack, a dual-motor Rivian R1T can achieve an impressive range of up to 352 miles on a full charge when fitted with 21-inch road tires. The range remains competitive at 341 miles with 22-inch road tires and 307 miles with the optional 20-inch all-terrain wheels.
Rivian offers additional battery options that can be paired with either of the dual-motor setups (standard or Performance): the Standard Battery pack, which delivers an EPA-rated range of 270 miles, and the Max Battery pack, providing a remarkable maximum driving range of 410 miles when combined with 21-inch road tires.
