NIO has revealed its delivery plans for the much-anticipated EC6 coupe SUV. The company, known for capitalizing on initial customer excitement, will commence deliveries right after the vehicle’s official launch on September 15.
Shortly after confirming the launch date for the new EC6, NIO made the announcement that deliveries of the model will commence on September 16, aligning closely with customer order lock-in schedules.
The new EC6 show cars have already made their debut in NIO’s showrooms, with test drives set to begin on September 15, as disclosed via the NIO App.
Prospective buyers interested in securing the EC6 can place a pre-order deposit of RMB 5,000 (approximately $680). Additionally, customers who make the initial booking will receive NIO Credits valued at RMB 1,000 when they lock in their orders.

It’s worth noting that the pre-order channel for the EC6 will be closed at the commencement of order lock-ins.
While specific technical specifications and pricing details for the EC6 have yet to be released, NIO has confirmed an official launch event scheduled for September 15, beginning at 8 pm Beijing time.
Currently, NIO’s lineup includes the ES8, ES6, ES7, ET5, ET7, EC7, and ET5 Touring, all built on the latest NT 2.0 platform. The upcoming EC6 is the final piece in NIO’s transition from the older NT 1.0 platform to the NT 2.0 platform, marking a significant step forward in their EV offerings.
In February, the new EC6 appeared in a regulatory filing catalog published by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), offering insight into the model’s core specifications.
The EC6 is equipped with the same LiDAR and camera setup on the roof as other NT 2.0-based platform vehicles, featuring front and taillight designs consistent with NIO’s latest models.
According to the regulatory filing, the EC6 measures 4,849 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, 1,697 mm in height, and boasts a wheelbase of 2,915 mm.

Powering the EC6 are dual electric motors produced by NIO’s electric drive systems division in Hefei, Anhui province, delivering maximum power outputs of 150 kW and 210 kW, respectively. The vehicle is capable of achieving a top speed of 200 km/h.
These powertrain specifications align with those found in the new ES6, ET5, and ET5 Touring models, with NIO’s higher-end ES8, ES7, and EC7 vehicles featuring more robust motors, including a front motor with a maximum output of 180 kW and a rear motor delivering 300 kW.
