In a captivating scene captured on video and shared on social media, a Tesla Semi was seen transporting a Tesla Cybertruck on a U.S. highway. The footage, originally shared on TikTok by user u/itsnatalierosee and subsequently on Twitter by S.E. Robinson, Jr. (@SERobinsonJr), has ignited curiosity among electric vehicle enthusiasts.
The Cybertruck observed in the video is believed to be a pre-production model undergoing testing as Tesla prepares for the impending start of limited production later this year at the Tesla Giga Texas plant. According to Tesla’s Q2 financial report, the current stage of development for the Cybertruck is labeled as “Tooling.”
The Tesla Semi, meanwhile, has progressed to the “Pilot production” stage in Nevada. The specific Semi captured in the video is presumed to be a part of Tesla’s internal fleet, which has already seen delivery to initial customers, including a notable deal with Pepsico for 21 units.

Interestingly, a supplementary video reveals a second Tesla Semi following the first, although this one was not towing a trailer.
This occurrence marks the first known instance of Tesla’s all-electric Semi Class 8 truck being employed to transport the all-electric Cybertruck pickup. While Tesla had previously utilized the Semi for hauling its electric vehicles, this instance may signify a strategic combination of practical tasks, testing endeavors, and strategic marketing leading up to the Cybertruck’s official launch.

The choice to showcase this spectacle might be attributed to Tesla’s recognition of the virality of past videos featuring both the camouflaged Cybertruck and the Semi. By leveraging these captivating visuals, Tesla is effectively maintaining its presence in the public eye.

Both the Tesla Semi and the Tesla Cybertruck have the potential to redefine their respective sectors, not solely due to their electric powertrains but also due to their innovative designs that stand in stark contrast to traditional Class 8 semi trucks and internal combustion engine pickups of the past.
However, it’s essential to exercise patience and await developments until at least 2024, possibly even 2025, as high-volume production is projected to commence. Only then will it become evident whether the Tesla Semi and Cybertruck will make a significant impact on the market, reshaping the landscape of transportation and sparking a new era of electric mobility.
