In an exciting development, X Shore has officially begun delivering its highly anticipated X Shore 1 vessels to customers, marking the launch of a new lower-cost electric boat model within the company’s lineup.
The X Shore 1, unveiled nearly a year ago, has generated significant buzz as an attractive entry point for boaters. While X Shore’s flagship 26-foot Eelex 8000 remains an impressive but pricey option at around US $330,000, the 21-foot X Shore 1 comes at a far more affordable price of $139,000.
The latest announcement from the company celebrated this milestone, stating, “A momentous occasion at X Shore! The first X Shore 1 boats are now being delivered into the hands of our wonderful customers and partners.”
The X Shore 1 boasts an open transom with a built-in swim platform, enabling passengers to easily access the water for a refreshing swim or reboard the boat effortlessly.
To ensure a balanced approach to cost, performance, and environmental concerns, X Shore’s Swedish factory employs a mix of glass fiber and carbon fiber in the boat’s construction. Additionally, the use of cork decking in place of traditional teak wood underscores the company’s commitment to sustainability.
While drawing inspiration from the sleek Scandinavian design of the flagship Eelex 8000, the X Shore 1 incorporates key cost-saving measures in its design and production process. Notable features, including the clean layout, cork decking, large touch display, and smart technology, have all been retained from the Eelex 8000 model.
Both the X Shore 1 and Eelex 8000 boats boast cruising speeds of 20 knots and can reach impressive speeds of 30 knots. Though the Eelex 8000 outperforms the X Shore 1 with a 100-nautical mile range compared to the latter’s 50-nautical mile range, the latter’s affordability has struck a chord with boaters seeking a cost-effective and enjoyable experience.
The electric boat industry is currently experiencing robust growth, with not only new players entering the market but also innovative products like solar-powered floating docks to charge electric boats gaining attention.
Sweden, in particular, has emerged as a leading force in the electric boat industry. Alongside X Shore, several other Swedish electric boat manufacturers, such as Candela with its hydrofoil boats and Pol’s electric boat campers, are making strides in this space.
