Following its initial debut at Auto Shanghai 2023 in April, the MG Cyberster, an open-top electric vehicle, is set to captivate audiences once again at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed. MG, the automaker behind the innovative EV, has announced that the Cyberster will make both static and dynamic appearances at the renowned event.

Visitors to the festival will have the opportunity to explore the Cyberster up close, as it will be prominently displayed at MG’s stand. The sleek exterior design and cutting-edge interior features of the electric roadster will be showcased, giving attendees a glimpse into the future of high-performance, technologically-advanced vehicles. Additionally, a separate Cyberster model will participate in the festival’s iconic hill climb, thrilling spectators with its impressive capabilities. This dynamic showcase will see the Cyberster make two runs up the hill on each day of the festival.

Guy Pigounakis, Commercial Director for MG, expressed his excitement about the Cyberster’s presence at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, stating, “We’re thrilled to make a global debut at the festival. The Cyberster signifies MG’s highly anticipated return to sports car production, and we are eager to share the thrilling future it represents—a future filled with high-performance, engaging electric vehicles. We have two more debuts planned, both emphasizing MG’s commitment to creating electric cars that inspire and exhilarate.”

While MG has kept details about the additional debuts under wraps, the company has revealed that both cars will be fully electric. One of the prototypes, codenamed EX4, is described as a “dramatic British-designed and built” concept, while the other model will be available for purchase later this summer.

As for the Cyberster, MG has yet to disclose the final power and performance specifications for the roadster. However, leaked information suggests that there will be three versions of the vehicle. The base model will feature a single-motor powertrain, while two dual-motor variants will offer enhanced performance. The range-topping Cyberster will boast a front electric motor delivering 201 horsepower (150 kilowatts) and a rear motor producing 335 hp (250 kW), resulting in a combined system output of 530 hp (395 kW).

Enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the MG Cyberster’s arrival will have to exercise patience, as it is expected to hit the market in the United Kingdom and Europe in the summer of 2024. Further details regarding the vehicle’s specifications and pricing will be unveiled closer to its launch.
