Fang Cheng Bao, the newly unveiled sub-brand of BYD, is gearing up for the release of its inaugural model, and recently shared captivating images of the vehicle undergoing snow testing on Weibo.
While the exact location of the snow-covered scenes was not disclosed by the brand, auto enthusiasts speculate that the testing took place in Yakeshi, Inner Mongolia, renowned as China’s snow and ice capital.
Officially introduced on June 9, Fang Cheng Bao marks the fifth addition to BYD’s brand lineup, joining the ranks of Dynasty, Ocean, Denza, and Yangwang series.
The purpose of this sub-brand is to meet the rising consumer demand for personalized options by offering an exclusive range of high-performance new energy vehicles (NEVs), according to BYD’s announcement.
Fang Cheng Bao’s model roster will comprise crossovers and sports cars, with its initial release scheduled to be a robust SUV codenamed SF, expected to hit the market later this year, as confirmed in a press release by BYD.
In March, CnEVPost obtained leaked photos of the SF model, showcasing the prominent emblem “2316” imprinted on its bodywork. The deciphered meaning behind this number sequence indicates the presence of dual motors (2), three locks (3), a novel platform (1), and a projected launch in June (6).
However, in the recently shared pictures by Fang Cheng Bao, the number displayed on the vehicle changes to “2318.” It remains uncertain whether this alteration signifies a delay in the SF model’s release, shifting the launch from June to August.
Responding to an inquisitive user’s query regarding the release date in the Weibo comments section, Fang Cheng Bao hinted that the eagerly anticipated launch event is imminent.
The name Fang Cheng Bao, which translates to “Formula” and “Leopard,” was carefully chosen by BYD to symbolize the brand’s aspirations for a transformative breakthrough and exploration of the digital realm, as stated in an earlier announcement.
