Lancia CEO Takes the Wheel: Exclusive Video Reveals Pu+Ra HPE Concept in Action

Lancia’s CEO, Luca Napolitano, took the wheel of the groundbreaking Pu+Ra HPE Concept, and exclusive footage of the drive has been released by the company. This visionary vehicle, which serves as a manifesto for the brand’s future, is set to embark on a captivating European tour, visiting six key countries crucial to Lancia’s relaunch strategy.

The official video of the test drive provides compelling evidence of the concept’s functional electric powertrain. However, Lancia has chosen to remain tight-lipped about the underlying technology and specifications. While the Pu+Ra HPE Concept is described as “perfectly drivable,” it is treated with utmost care and respect, befitting its status as a unique and highly valuable prototype. Apart from Napolitano, journalists and experts have also had the privilege of experiencing this remarkable vehicle firsthand.

Unveiled on April 15, the Lancia Pu+Ra HPE represents the first manifestation of the brand’s new design language, anticipated to shape the next decade. Although this electric two-door sports car will not be entering production, it serves as a preview of the “design, innovation, and technology” that will define Lancia’s forthcoming models, such as the Ypsilon, Aurellia, and Delta.

Drawing inspiration from iconic Lancia classics like the Stratos, Beta, Flaminia, and Aurelia, the concept’s exterior incorporates stylistic elements from these legendary predecessors. Its futuristic interior was a collaborative effort with renowned Italian furniture maker Cassina, drawing inspiration from the elegance of Italian living rooms. The concept also introduces Lancia’s distinctive new lighting signature, an illuminated grille, and an array of sustainable materials. Moreover, it showcases the innovative S.A.L.A. (Sound Air Light Augmentation) user interface, which will be integrated into future production models.

Enthusiasts of the Lancia brand will have the opportunity to witness the awe-inspiring Pu+Ra HPE Concept up close during its European tour. This firsthand encounter will precede the highly anticipated debut of the all-new Ypsilon supermini, expected to arrive in 2024 with hybrid and electric variants. Following that, Lancia enthusiasts can look forward to the introduction of the Aurelia flagship in 2026, which will take the form of a fully electric crossover. Finally, the iconic Delta model is set to make its triumphant return in 2028 as an electric hatchback, completing the brand’s ambitious electrification roadmap.
