Geely Auto Group’s latest venture, Geely Galaxy, has emerged on the scene with its groundbreaking new energy vehicle (NEV) sub-brand. In a bid to conquer the burgeoning plug-in hybrid market, Geely Galaxy has taken a significant stride forward by making its inaugural model, the L7, readily available to the Chinese market.
During an exclusive launch event held yesterday, Geely Galaxy proudly presented the L7 in five distinct versions, each starting at an attractive price point. With options ranging from RMB 138,700 ($19,500) to RMB 173,700, the L7 brings forth a compelling proposition for consumers.
The Geely Galaxy L7 stands tall as a remarkable hybrid SUV, boasting dimensions of 4,700 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, all while providing a spacious wheelbase of 2,785 mm.
Leveraging the cutting-edge e-CMA architecture, the L7 is propelled by a robust 1.5T four-cylinder engine. This powertrain offers a combined maximum system power of 287 kW, accompanied by a formidable combined maximum torque of 535 Nm. Impressively, the L7 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds, showcasing its exhilarating performance capabilities.
As for its electric capabilities, the Geely Galaxy L7 provides two battery range options, delivering a CLTC pure electric range of either 55 km or 115 km. With a full fuel tank and a fully charged battery, the L7 achieves an astounding combined range of up to 1,370 km.
Highlighting the exceptional engineering behind this model, Geely Galaxy proudly announces that the L7 is powered by a 1.5T engine with a remarkable thermal efficiency rating of 44.26 percent. This achievement positions the L7’s engine as the frontrunner among all known production engines.
To ensure convenience and efficiency, the Geely Galaxy L7 supports fast charging and external discharge. In just 30 minutes, the vehicle can replenish its energy levels from 30 percent to 80 percent, providing a hassle-free charging experience.
Under the hood, the L7 boasts the formidable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, currently revered as the pinnacle cockpit chip in the Chinese market’s flagship electric vehicles.
Anticipation is mounting as Geely Galaxy has announced that initial deliveries of the L7 will commence on June 13, marking an exciting milestone for the brand and its eager customers.
Having officially launched the Geely Galaxy brand on February 24, Geely Auto Group has unveiled its first production model, the L7, to great acclaim. This marks the beginning of an ambitious plan for Geely Galaxy, as the brand aims to introduce a total of seven models by 2025. The lineup will include four plug-in hybrids from the L-series and three all-electric models from the E-series.
In the pipeline, Geely Galaxy has planned the launch of the L6 in the third quarter of 2023, followed by the L5 in the second quarter of 2024. The pinnacle of the L-series, the L9, is set to make its debut in 2025, elevating Geely Galaxy’s offerings to new heights.
For enthusiasts of all-electric vehicles, Geely Galaxy has prepared an exciting lineup. The Galaxy E8 is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2023, followed by the Galaxy E7 in the second quarter of 2024. The eagerly anticipated Galaxy E6 will then hit the market in the third quarter of 2024, representing the pinnacle of Geely Galaxy’s electrification journey.
