Neta Auto, the electric vehicle (EV) brand under Hozon Auto, has inaugurated its global headquarters in Shanghai with the aim of cultivating a more prestigious brand image. The newly opened headquarters in Shanghai’s Putuo district serves as a hub for various key functions, including strategy planning, resource allocation, decision-making, and coordination of Neta’s global operations, as stated in a press release issued today. Additionally, the facility serves as Neta’s flagship experience center, research and development center, data center, and service center. It also features a display of Neta vehicle models, including the Neta S, Neta GT, Neta U-II, and Neta V.
Established in 2014, Neta previously had a headquarters in Shanghai’s Minhang district but lacked a global headquarters, according to information available on its website. Apart from the newly opened global headquarters, Neta maintains a design center in Beijing and a factory in Tongxiang, located in Zhejiang province.
Since its inception, Neta has been associated with affordable EVs, offering vehicles primarily targeted at the lower end of the market. The Neta V and Neta U, priced around 100,000 yuan ($14,130), exemplify the brand’s focus on budget-friendly options. However, Neta is now making a foray into the premium segment with the introduction of its flagship sedan, the Neta S. This model aims to cater to consumers looking for vehicles in the price range of RMB 200,000 to 300,000.
In April, Neta witnessed an increase in deliveries, with 11,080 vehicles sold, marking a 25.72 percent growth compared to the same month last year and a 9.84 percent increase from March’s sales figure of 10,087 units, according to the company’s data released on May 1. The Neta S accounted for 2,237 units delivered in April, showing a modest growth of 1.41 percent compared to March’s figures.
With aspirations of achieving a sales target of 300,000 units in 2023, as reported by the China Securities Journal on February 7, Neta aims to build on its success. In 2022, the company sold a total of 152,073 units, marking a remarkable year-on-year growth of 118 percent. Notably, Neta also exported 3,456 units overseas, highlighting its expanding presence beyond the domestic market.
