NIO reported its delivery figures for April 2023, indicating a further decline as the company continues its product switchover. According to the data released today, NIO delivered 6,658 units during the month, reflecting a 31.2% increase compared to the same period last year. However, this figure represents a significant drop of 35.85% from March’s deliveries, which totaled 10,378 units.
The majority of NIO’s April deliveries consisted of 1,713 premium smart electric SUVs and 4,945 premium smart electric sedans. With these recent deliveries, NIO’s cumulative vehicle deliveries have now reached 327,255 as of April 30, 2023.
During April, NIO primarily focused on delivering the ET5 and ES7 models, as the company undergoes an upgrade in its product offerings from NIO Technology 1.0 (NT1.0) to NIO Technology 2.0 (NT2.0). Towards the end of April, NIO commenced a steady increase in production and delivery of the EC7, a five-seater smart electric flagship coupe SUV based on NT2.0.
NIO made a significant announcement at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 18, 2023, unveiling the All-New ES6, a smart electric all-round SUV derived from NT2.0. The All-New ES6 promises remarkable design, performance, comfort, intelligence, safety, and sustainability, surpassing user expectations. NIO anticipates launching the All-New ES6 officially in May 2023, with deliveries to commence.
Moreover, NIO plans to introduce the All-New ES8, a smart electric flagship SUV based on NT2.0, and commence deliveries in June 2023. Another highlight of the Shanghai Auto Show was the launch of the 2023 ET7, a smart electric flagship sedan built on NT2.0. The 2023 ET7 boasts over 15 product upgrades, aiming to provide users with enhanced driving and riding experiences, an elevated interior, and a more intuitive digital interface. Deliveries for the 2023 ET7 are slated to begin in May 2023.
NIO’s delivery figures for April reflect the ongoing challenges and adjustments associated with the product switchover. However, with the introduction of the All-New ES6, the upcoming debut of the All-New ES8, and the anticipated deliveries of the 2023 ET7, NIO remains optimistic about its prospects in the premium smart electric vehicle market.
